Countdown

While waiting for the real winter and the festive days we’ve prepared for you the BOFF’s programme for 2011.

This year 48 films applied for the festival and we chose 21 of these for this year’s programme.

According to the terns in the Call for Entries, 16 films are in the competition: 4 films SS – Sport Short, 12 films SL – Sport Long. There are only two films in the category Nature and ecology, so this year they won’t take part in the competition. In the programme there is also one film from the category Era and two Commercial and advertising movies.

This year’s Jury are Seppi Dabringer – the filmmaker from Vilach, Austria; the photographer Dan Patitucci from USA and Nina Peče – the Slovenian expert from the field of cinematography. But also the visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite film. As in previous years, also this year in the programme there are films with very different contents and amongst the guests of the festival are authors and actors from all over the world. The wide array of the films that applied for the festival helped us make an excellent programme. There will be several awarded films from abroad with the attendance that can be measured in thousands.

As you already know, the first two nights, on the 28th and 29th of Decembre, we will be in the Stergulc’s House in the centre of Bovec, but for the last night, the 30th Decembre, we will move to the Culture House in Bovec. Entry to all shows is free of charge. Subtitles only in English language.

Until the 11th of December you still have the time to apply for the Festival of Snow Sculptures. This event will take place partly at the Kanin ski centre and partly in the main square in Bovec, where will also be stands with food and drink. All visitors of the Kanin ski centre will be able to see how the snow sculptures are being created in the natural environment.

Bovec will say goodbye to the old year in the company of artists from all over the world. Each evening the music will create the right atmosphere and you may also admire the snow sculptures in the romantic light. During the festival you will also have the opportunity to vote for your favourite snow sculpture, either in Bovec or at the ski centre Kanin.

We also want to let you know, that there are still some places left if you want to apply for the Freeride workshops. Win a Helitripwith us!

WELCOME!
