Francisco Marin, also known “Novato” (“Rookie” in Spanish), is a 61-year-old climber and the only known person in the world to climb at this level at his age. He sent 8b+ (5.14a) in 2012, and now has 8c (5.14b) “Florida” as a project, all of them in Rodellar, Spain. Francisco is a lifelong climber, and even his son Edu Marin is a professional climber. He values effort, honor, perseverance and honesty in his life and his climbing. This film transcends the climbing world and showcases this inspiring, motivating individual who wants to share his story. It’s not about sport, it’s about life.

Jon Herranz was born in Getxo (Biscay) on 1980, and has directed several climbing and outdoor sports shortfilms with hundreds of thousands of views around the world through internet on partnership with EpicTV, in addition to some sport documentaries as “Edu Marín. Restart”. He has also directed social documentaries as “Sikyong. The political revolution of the 14th Dalai Lama”, “La plataforma” or “Flames”, receiving awards as “Best Film” in the International Human Rights Film Festival of Barcelona or the award “Human values” in Scife 2014.
