The Winners: Suri, Why? and Eclipse

After three nights of screenings at the 9th edition of BOFF prizes to best of three categories plus the people’s choice.

Bovec, December 28th – The Bovec Outdoor Film Festival wrapped up its ninth edition with the honours to the best films chosen by the jury and the public.

The four piece festival jury, consisting of Slovenian film makers Kaja Trkman, Tomaž Šantl, Katja Pokorn and Mitja Legat, presented the prize for the winner of the Nature and Ecology category to Suri by Slovak author Pavol Barabaš and K2 Studio. The prize is presented by Toyota Slovenia.

The best film in short sports films category (up to 15 minutes) is Slovenian kayak film Why? by Rok Rozman and Leeway Collective.

The best film in “sports long” is the Canadian film Eclipse by Anthony Bonello and Switchback Entertainment. At BOFF Bonello won the Nature and Ecology category in 2013 with Stand.

The people’s choice award went to Suri. Barabaš already won both the Nature and Ecology category and people’s choice in 2009 with Carstensz – The Seventh Summit.

33 films were screen on three nights. We will also remember the 9th edition for photo exhibition by Jošt Gantar and lectures by Rok Rozman on advocacy against rivers dams and by climbing legend Janez Gradišar on the first Slovenian expedition to Yosemite in 1973.
